Crossing over....
I haven't written anything in awhile because there hasn't been much to write. We've been waiting and waiting for our homestudy to be completed and have been working on collecting our dossier papers. There have been some bumps in the road. For some reason it took forever to get the initial draft back from our agency therefore causing delays in getting it to WACAP for their review. Then WACAP had it for over a week before getting back to our social worker. We then find out that there were these forms we were suppose to completed but we never received the forms. I was more than a little frustrated because they were forms that were suppose to be filled out along the same time as your homestudy (with your social worker), you would think that WACAP would have notified us of these forms - like FYI: Don't forget to fill out these forms. Especially since they were not conducting our homestudy. Well, without these forms being completed our application to WACAP was never sent on to the next step of getting into the Thailand program. So...we are not officially in the Thai program yet!!!!!!! Agggg, my nerves are giving way. I've had more than a few days that I've doubted our decision and thought perhaps doing this out of state thing was a bad idea, perhaps we should have done domestic, perhaps we should have waited until we were old enough for China........all these things going through my head, but I keep going back to everything we love about Thailand and what brought us to this decision. I'm also getting so frustrated with the idea of still having to wait a year before we get a referral. It's a long program and we knew that going in, but now that the reality has set in and I"ve been around all these babies.....well anyway - that's really not up for debate. We've chosen our path and we're going to stick to it.
But on the flip side, Friday we received our completed homestudy in the mail. Now all we have to do is finish up our dossier and send that off. We also received instructions on where and when to get our FBI fingerprints taken (for our I-600A: a file that is open with the government in regards to bringing a child in from another country). So that is the next step. I plan on cleaning the house for our home pictures and hopefully getting a family picture taken today at the BBQ we are attending. Down to the nitty gritty. And then we wait....
I've decided to surround myself in projects, so if anyone would like something cross-stitched, an animal knitted, or something designed for them please let me know :)
